Elder Joseph Crapo Photos

Joseph sent home two memory cards with a total of 7 Gb of photos and video clips.  I have selected some of the photos of Joseph to post.

This is Joseph with his first mission president and his wife.  The photo was taken in June.  They went home the first of July when a new mission president arrived.

 Taken in July, this was taken from the top of a mountain on a hike overlooking the Pohnpei coastline.

 Joseph got a lava lava to go with his Psycho Donut shirt.

 In August, Joseph was transferred to Guam as a zone leader.  This is Joseph and Elder Shuster on their way to Guam to go to zone leader training.  Elder Shuster was zone leader on Pohnpei at this transfer.  Elder Shuster was Samoan but he was from New Zealand.  Joseph’s new companion, as of this week, Elder Gasu, is also Samoan, but he is from Corona, California.

 A few days later, about 3 weeks before Christmas, Joseph was assigned to be a trainer of a new missionary, Elder Lovelace, who is standing right behind Joseph.  These are the new missionaries with their companions.

 We mailed Christmas packages to Joseph at his Guam address the day before we found out he got transferred back to Pohnpei.  Other packages sent later arrived at the correct address.  Here, he finally has all of his Christmas packages.

 At a very young age, most boys learn that just about any object can be used as though it were a toy car.  As they grow up a little more, they find that just about any object can be used to pretend you are firing a weapon.  Here, a piece of a jungle plant is improvising as a high power weapon.

 Since it rains so much on Pohnpei, missionaries learn to improvise with native umbrella materials.

 Looking for investigators, they sometimes have to wade through tall grass.

 Sometimes the tall grass can eat missionaries.

 On a P-day activity, the missionaries played football.

 Elder Carlson, the zone leader was acting like he was going to eat a centipede.  Joseph had his classic look of concern in watching Elder Carlson.

 There is some resemblance to a photo taken when joseph was 2.  He was concerned about the catfish that Neil and Bret caught.

We will not likely see any more photos of his mission until he comes home in three months.
